At nineteen, Ron Bancroft finds himself at a crossroads. Newly out as transgender, estranged from his family, separated from his girlfriend, and unable to afford another year of college, he leaves the East Coast behind and heads west in search of a fresh start.
In Wyoming, Ron finds rugged terrain, ranch life, wranglers, and the opportunity to live simply as the man he knows himself to be. But his new beginning also brings unexpected relationships and a world shaped by prejudice and violence.
What begins as a journey across the country becomes something far more personal: a search for what it means to be a man, where Ron belongs, and how to find truth and happiness within himself.
